Most of us have heard of how moderate red wine consumption reduces heart
disease in France. The reason for this is that the flavones from the grapes are
dissolved in the alcohol and have an antioxidant effect. Recently it has been
shown that the anti-oxidant capacity of 1000mg of Vit.C is double the amount of
300ml of red wine.

Sudden infant death syndrome has been related to high iron content in infant
formula's which can contain up to 155x that found in maternal milk. Iron promotes
overgrowth of harmful gut bacteria and therefore increases risk of
salmonellosis, botulism and SIDS. At autopsy SIDS infants have iron liver levels
3x that of a normal liver.

Here is an easy stress tip you can start today! Abdominal breathing induces relaxation. When you are stressed shallow breaths in the upper chest are activated automatically. Abdominal breathing or diaphragmatic breathing as it is sometimes called, activates the relaxed (parasympathetic) nervous system. Since our breathing is partly under voluntary control you can switch to abdominal breathing when under stress. How to do it? Easy. Place your hand on your tummy and make sure it goes up and down as you breathe in or out. Check in to your breathing three or four times a day and you will help yourself relax.

Flax oil will help to prevent breast cancer. Women with breast cancer and related
metastases were found to have very low levels of alpha-linolenic acid. Flax oil
has 58% alpha-linolenic acid with the additional bonus of a high lignan content
that offers an anti-cancer effect.

Gingko and Alzheimer's disease. In the most recent study of gingko, 80mg of gingko
was given three times a day to patients with a preliminary diagnosis of
Alzheimer's type senile dementia, which improved all parameters, usually in the
first month. Use a gingko extract that has been standardized to contain 24%
gingko flavonglycosides and 6% terpenes.

St. John's wort as an antidepressant. An extract of St. John's wort standardized to contain 0.3% hypericin given at a dosage of 300mg three times a day is effective in roughly 65%-80% of patients in the treatment of mild to moderate depression. This herb has virtually no side effects as compared to tricyclic antidepressants, and is one of the most widely prescribed antidepressants in Germany. It is not suitable for treatment of serious depressions such as psychotic or suicidal tendencies.

for heart disease according to Dr. Bernard Corenblum of Calgary. These women
should avoid obesity, a sedentary life style, a diet high in non essential fat, and
smoking. They should be screened for fasting blood fat levels, blood pressure,

Itching in the ninth month of pregnancy is likely related to obstetric cholestasis, which is a sluggishness of the gallbladder. Naturopathic treatments are quite safe for this condition and can relieve undue suffering.
