Ion Wave Detoxifying Foot Bath

How It Works
For optimal health the body is composed of 80% negative electrons or ions (anions) and 20% positive electrons or ions (cations). When negative electrons in the body are exposed to pollutants, or other stressors from the environment of unhealthy lifestyles they become positively charged and when in excess are toxic to the body. These toxins interfere with the optimal functioning of the body and can lead to any number of symptoms.

The Ion Wave Detoxifying footbath is essentially electrolysis of water to break down water molecules into thousands of ions that in turn create an electromagnetic energy field that travels through the feet and permeates the body. Once inside the body these ions start to neutralize the cations within the body and draw them out of the body through osmosis. The Ion Wave foot baths create energy by altering the electron and proton load in the water to create an electromagnetic environment or “Bio-energetically” altering the water environment in which the patient places his or her feet to experience the donation of appropriate ions.

The donation of appropriate ions increases the body’s energy or simply translated “life energy”. This safe and painless tool is used to detoxify and balance the energy meridians of the body by the creation of this ionic field which helps to neutralize and eliminate harmful free radicals while removing unwanted debris. At the same time the treatment helps to balance the pH of the body.

Within the human body are energy channels known in Chinese Medicine as meridians. These meridians provide a pathway for energy to flow to or from a particular organ. These pathways begin or end at points on the feet. A person’s current state of health is determined by how well the energy in the body flows through these meridians

It is impossible to remove all the toxins that we are exposed to on a daily basis however we can utilize tools to aid the detoxification processes of the body. These include oral cleansing programs, infrared sauna baths and up-regulating the functioning of the emunctory or the elimination organs: kidney, digestive tract, lungs, lymphatic systems and skin.

The skin is the second largest organ of elimination (after the lungs). During the foot bath the body easily absorbs negative ions which neutralize free radicals and allow cells to more readily release toxins and absorb oxygen.

What Will You Experience
Healthy individuals can expect to feel lighter and experience a greater feeling of well being, reporting an increase in energy, vitality and improved sleep patterns. Others report improved recovery time and improved liver, kidney and bowel functions such as reduced fluid retention. Feelings of improved mental clarity and relaxation are most often reported. Some patients with pain, edema and swollen joints have reported relief immediately. Other patients with arthritis, allergies, gout, lymphadema, headaches and neuralgia as well as other symptoms have experienced relief and benefit with multiple treatments.

What Happens During the Treatment
Carmen, your practitioner, will immerse your feet in a bath of warm salty water and instruct you not to move your feet during the 30 minute treatment in order to enhance the view of the treatment while in progress. The Ion Wave Therapy Unit is plugged into the wall using a surge protector and the unit is equipped to automatically shut down if the salt solution gradient is not satisfactory for optimal functioning. The stainless steel array is immersed into the bath. This array is what generates the positive or negative ions that create the energy field for the duration of the treatment. Please note that moving your feet during the treatment will not affect the outcome of the treatment in any way.

The salt in the water provides the optimum conductivity. The ideal amperage during treatment is 1.5 to 2.1 (to generate the most negative ions) but this number will fluctuate during treatment. The treatment can be enhanced with the optional use of a far infrared light therapy belt. It is best worn over cotton clothing so please dress appropriately for this portion of the treatment.

Why Does The Water Change Color?
All tap water has natural occurring minerals and impurities which are drawn out during this electrolysis treatment. The tea color of the water is due to this process. Some gases are also released including oxygen, chlorine and some sulphurs. The stainless steel array will also release some metals. The skin of the hands or feet depending on the pH of the skin will also release remnants of soap, creams, dyes and fibres, substances from sebaceous glands in the skin and of course dead skin cells. The internal health of the body will also influence and manifest in the water. The typical colors seen include: black, green, white, yellow and orange. The color of the water during the treatments will vary from treatment to treatment due to the energy state of the person and their toxicity level. Carmen will help you decipher the colors that change during the treatment. Please not that the changing water color is not what this treatment is all about. It is about the effect the energy has on the body!

Guidelines During Therapy
Remove all jewelry, include watches
Do not use a cell phone or a computer
If taking prescription medications take 6 hours before or 6 hours after treatment
Following the treatment replenish electrolytes with supplemental minerals including vitamin C and vegetable juices.

Anyone with open wounds on their feet (use hands instead)

Side Effects
The Ion Wave Foot Bath is a detoxification treatment so those who have any degree of toxicity can expect to have some cleansing reactions. These may result in feelings of fatigue, headache and similar symptoms of the flu. These symptoms will abate with subsequent treatments and will be hastened by combining the treatments with Dr. Pincott’s Rejuvenation Program or Heel Detox Kit. 

Why Ion Wave?
There are many ionic foot baths on the market these days. What we look for are machines that don’t break down and that use a stainless steel array rather than other materials that are less durable. This machine also has manual adjusting capability so that treatments can be individualized. Many units are fully automatic removing this option.

Recommendations for Ion Wave Foot Bath Detoxification
It is best to be on some kind of detoxification program while you are doing a series of detox foot baths to reduce cleansing reactions. These reactions are usually very mild and temporary and can include symptoms of headaches and fatigue. Dr. Pincott has two programs: The Rejuvenation Program and the Detox Kit. The Detox Kit is the easiest to follow. It is a homeopathic kit of remedies that help open up the key drainage organs in the body: the liver, lymph and kidney. 10 drops of each remedy is put into one liter of water and drunk throughout the day. This kit lasts for one month. If you are interested in the Rejuvenation Program please ask.

It is recommended to do at least 3 consecutive foot baths while on a detoxification program but to really put a dent in the chemical toxic load of the body, 10 weekly consecutive treatments are ideal. Resting 1- 2 months before resuming more treatments prevents excessive fatigue as a result of overly rapid detoxification.

During the treatment it is optional to wear a far infrared light therapy belt around your waist. It is best to be wearing natural fibers such as cotton. This light therapy augments the detoxification treatment.

During the procedure some electrolytes might be lost including calcium, magnesium, sodium, zinc, chromium and potassium. To replenish, taking your supplements after the treatment might be best. These should include minerals, vitamin C and essential fats such as cod liver and borage oil. Drinking vegetable juices or Green First just after each treatment is recommended.

Elimination of toxins using the detox bath happens primarily through the kidney with maximum discharge occurring 6-10 hours after the bath treatment but continues for 1-3 days afterwards as well. According to some German studies the key elements discharged include aluminum, titanium, barium, nickel, lead, silver, tin, thallium and beryllium.
